Death in Gaza
'Death in Gaza' is a wonderful documentary - extremely painful and moving. The documentary was completed posthumously as the director/cameraman - James Miller was shot dead by Israeli soldiers without provocation and reason. The documentary follows three children and tries to document the israel-palestine conflict has on their lives. It never flinches away from the truth and it gives you a sense and feel of the place. Death just happens - in a flash and everything you know about life is forgotten. The documentary is powerful and is a must watch. The original plan was to film 3 children in israel and see the effect on the conflict on them as well but that was canned after James was killed while doing the palestine side of the doco. Nobody has yet been held accountable for the death and no one wants to know about it - diplomacy eh? United Nations is responsible for the current state of affairs because of their policy in 1948 and now they can do nothing about it but watch people kill each other in the name of land.I think I will stop this post on the sombre note where safety and freedom are words protected by blood of the unspoken killed.
Till later,
Amit
